Incidence of Type 1 Diabetes in Finland The incidence of type 1 diabetes (T1D), one of themost prevalent chronicdisease inchildren,has increasedworldwide.1The highest recorded incidence in children younger than 15 years was 64.2 per 100000person-years inFinland in 2005.2Weexamined the incidence rates between 2006 and 2011 in Finnish children younger than 15 years as well as the 32-year trend (1980-2011).
